Late Surge too Little too Late for Warrior Men

Sterling, Kan.-The Warrior men's soccer team took a tough loss at home to a good team in their last match before the KCAC season begins. Sterling lost 4-2 to the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma.

Trailing 2-0 after 45 minutes, it looked like it was going to be all Drovers for the second half. USAO picked up two more goals early in the 2nd half, one in the 49' and one in the 62'. With the score 4-0 and time winding down, Sterling started to get things going offensively. In the 66', Daniel Stone scored his second goal of his career. This was also his first chance to score in back to back games. The Warriors seemed to gain momentum from the score and Ruben Guzman put another ball in the back of the net in the 71' giving Sterling just under 20 minutes to level things off.

It ended up being too little too late as the Warriors were not able to put another score on the board before the end of regulation. Sterling took a 4-2 loss. This was the last game prior to the conference season beginning.

Sterling plays Bethany College on Wednesday afternoon in the first game of KCAC play this season. The women are scheduled to play at 2 pm and the men are scheduled for 4. The Warrior men are now 3-2 in nonconference play.
