Dutro and Morales Represent Sterling on All-KCAC List
Wichita, Kan. – Warrior baseball had two team members represent them on the All-Conference list after this season. Both were selected on the Second Team. Andrew Dutro and Luis Morales made the list. Dutro as an outfielder and Morales as a Utility player. Dutro also has the special honor of being selected as a Gold Glove recipient after a spectacular season defensively where he did not commit a single error.
Dutro's impact was felt immediately by Warrior baseball this season. Of everyday players, he led the team in batting average (.387), homeruns (12), RBIs (56), slugging percentage (.747), walks (31), on base percentage (.508), tied for the team lead in doubles (16), was second in runs (48), and hits (58). Tack on to that his defensive excellence and he had a great season for the Warriors. He excelled in the conference as well finishing third in slugging percentage, fifth in both on base percentage and RBIs, seventh in batting average, and ninth in doubles.
Morales was the catalyst day in and day out to the Warrior's offense. Outside of a couple of games, Morales hit from the leadoff position all season. Some times he would start a game going after the first pitch of the game, other times he would not take the bat off his shoulder until he had two strikes. He led the team in runs (54), and hits (69), tied for the team lead in doubles (16), and triples (2), was second of everyday players in RBIs (46), and slugging percentage (.540), and finished third in homeruns (6). He was also top ten in the KCAC in hits and doubles.
