Morales Four Hits Lead to Series Win Against Southwestern

Winfield, Kan. – The Warriors closed out the season series with Southwestern with a win and taking the season series two games to one. Luis Morales and Andrew Dutro led the team with seven hits combined. The Warriors got on the board early and tacked on a few runs late to take the 9-4 win.

Dutro got the scoring started knocking in Morales with Nicholas Keller knocking in Dutro in the next at bat. Sterling added three more in the second opening up a five-run lead. The Builders tried to stay in the game answering with two runs of their own in the bottom of the second, but Sterling kept scoring, adding a run in the third, seventh, eighth, and ninth. Southwestern added just two runs in the fourth. Sterling ran away with a five-run win.

Morales had 4 hits followed up by Dutro with 3 hits. Albert Bisono, Eduardo Tarafa, and Nate Heffline each had two hits. Morales also knocked in 3 runs. Heffline had the lone homerun and Dutro (2), Bisono, and Heffline added doubles. Morales (3) and Austin Santiago (2) added 5 stolen bases between them. Cipriano Rivera came away with the win with Ryan Speer finishing the game in relief.

Sterling heads into a weekend series against (RV) Friends University in Wichita this weekend.
