Springfield, Mo. – Lady Warrior volleyball continues its trek through a tough stretch against some of the top tier teams in the KCAC. Saturday's match was no exception as the Warriors lost in straight sets, 17-25, 24-26, 25-14. Until the third set, the Warriors remained competitive throughout. A late run in the first set opened a three point set into the eventual eight point loss. The second set was clearly the Warrior's best as they fought back to tie the match at 24 to send it to extra points before the Valor finished it off.
Sterling was led by three of its seniors both offensively and defensively. Morgan Pellegrino led things offensively with 11 kills. Aubrey Young fell just short of 30 assists again, finishing with 28, and Makenna Linden held the back row solid with 26 digs. Pellegrino and Chloe Schmidt each had 2 blocks as well.
The season continues for the 12-12 Warriors on Wednesday evening at Bethel College, when they take on the Threshers in North Newton at 7 pm.
