Warriors Close Conference with Loss on Senior Day

Sterling, Kan- The Sterling College volleyball team closed out their regular conference season on Nov. 4, finishing out their Senior Day with a loss. The Warriors hosted the final conference game against the University of Saint Mary, starting strong with a first set win but unable to carry the momentum for the rest of the match. The Warriors concluded the regular season at 14-12 with their KCAC record at 4-9 and tenth place overall in the conference.

The Warriors came into the game with high energy, locking in the first set of the match. The Spires did not let up, proving to be a force on the court and winning the next three sets. The final scores of the sets were 25-20, 19-25, 20-25, and 17-25.

Sterling did not let up throughout the match, carrying close scores and long rallies through each set. Emily Peterson and Kodie Herd led the attack with 15 and 13 kills, respectively. Aubrey Young continues to lead as the setter with 42 assists. Makenna Linden led a strong back row with 16 digs, followed by Lindsey Kauffman with 12 digs.
