
Lady Warrior tennis sweeps Tabor College
Sterling College women's tennis got their first conference win in a sweeping of Tabor College, getting the 7-0 win at home on Thursday, March 13.
Giovana Gaboardi and Nadia Margaritov got it started off for the Lady Warriors in the #1 doubles spot with a 6-1 win over Fiorella Villa and Allison Johnson. In the #2 doubles match up, Sterling's Hannah Giordanelli and Greta Fankhauser trounced Tabor's Piper Goegen and Margaret Bates, 6-0. Camila Castro Medina and Ana Alvarez also got the 6-0 win over Cassidy Boyer and Sheridan Bussard in the #3 doubles match.
Sterling continued to roll on the singles side, Alvarez took on Villa in the #1 singles match where she lost the first set 6-4 before coming back to win the second 6-1 and take the tie breaker with an easy 10-2 victory. In the #2 singles spot, Margaritov got the 6-2, 6-1 win over Johnson.
Gaboardi represented the Lady Warriors from the #3 singles spot where she took on Foegen for the 6-0, 6-0 victory. In the #4 spot, Giordanelli also got the 6-0, 6-0 win over Tabor's Bates. The 6-0, 6-0 score seemed to be a favorite for Sterling as Fankhauser recorded the same score over Boyer in the #5 singles match and Sterling's Brooklyn Kuhn had the same score in the #6 singles spot in her win over Bussard.
The Lady Warriors will be back in action on Saturday, March 15 in Lindsborg, Kan. as they take on Bethany College.
