Winfield, Kan. – Defenses prevailed for the first half as the Lady Warriors took on the Southwestern College Moundbuilders in Winfield, Saturday night. Both teams were held scoreless before the scoring opened up in the second half.
Sterling scored first when Emorie Sautter blasted a ball top shelf from just outside the box to give Sterling a 1-0 lead in the 51'. Undeterred, Southwestern came back with a pair of goals in the 69' and 79' to win the match 2-1.
Sterling is now 3-11 (1-9) with three games remaining in the season. Sterling will take a day off on Wednesday and return to the pitch for Senior Day on Saturday, October 26, at 12 pm. They take on the Evangel Valor. Senior Day activities will take place between games.
