Warriors Show Vast Improvement, Still Fall to #9 OKWU

Bartlesville, Okla. – Lady Warrior soccer played their best match against perennial KCAC powerhouse, and current #9 in the NAIA, Oklahoma Wesleyan University in nearly a decade. Although they were unable to score, the continually improving defense made great strides over the last two seasons. Sterling gave up 3 goals in the first half and 2 more in the second. The defense held firm for the first 20 minutes of play before giving up the first goal of the match. The high-powered offense of OKWU was held at bay for much of the day, but the ball control and focus on possession limited Sterling to just one shot in the match. The final score was 5-0 for the Eagles.

The Warriors are now 3-7 (1-5) heading into play this upcoming week. Sterling plays a pair of home matches on Wednesday and Saturday. Wednesday, they host Tabor College at 1 PM, and on Saturday they take on the Friends University Falcons at the same time. Sterling and Tabor will both be seeking their second conference win of the season on Wednesday.
