SC Men Win Carmichael Cup
Salina, Kan. – The SC Men's golf team came out to their second tournament of the year with a purpose and came away with a big team win. Their consistent play was a big reason for their five-stroke team win. Sterling shot eight over or better as a team in all three rounds, the only team in the tournament to shoot all three rounds better than ten over.
The Warriors were led by tournament runner up, Sondre Storli Jensen, who finished second overall shooting a 2 over par, 212. Jensen was also the top KCAC finisher in the group. Nick Ritchie finished in a tie for third place, just one stroke behind Jensen. Also finishing in the top ten was Olivier Aucoin in ninth place with a +7 for the tournament. Below you will find individual totals for all of the men who participated in the tournament.

Sterling also brought two for the women's side of competition, but only one finished due to health concerns. O'Brien Hall had an excellent start to the season with a fifth place finish in the women's tournament. Hall shot a first round 88 and improved to a second round 82 to close out with a 170 total. Jillian Jolley made her Sterling College debut and was doing very well after the first round, but was not able to play in the second round due to health concerns. She shot a first round 91, which after one round was good enough for 11th place. Entering just two in the tournament, Sterling did not qualify for the team event.
The Sterling men's next action will be September 23 & 24 at the Central Plains Invitational. The women are next scheduled to play next week, September 16 & 17, at the 10th Annual Central Kansas Classic.
