Lady Warriors get the win over Bulldogs

The Sterling College Lady Warriors emerged victorious over the McPherson College Lady Bulldogs with an impressive 85-64 win on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at the Gleason Center. The Lady Warriors showcased their dominance after the first period, securing a decisive 21-point win in this regular season college basketball faceoff.

The game started with a challenging first period where the Lady Bulldogs took an early lead. However, the resilience of the Lady Warriors was evident as they fought back, led by Korynn Clason who scored 21 points throughout the game. By halftime, Sterling had turned the tables and led 46-29, largely thanks to a dominant second quarter where their defense, led by Karlee Jacobs with 6 assists and 7 steals, stifled the Lady Bulldogs.

The third period saw Sterling further extending their lead, with Clason making crucial free throws pushing the lead to 26 points. In the final period, contributions from bench players like Trinity Lutters and Alex Terverbaugh helped seal the win at 85-64. Bailey Young also stood out with a double-double, 14 rebounds and 11 points, contributing significantly to the Lady Warriors' success.

The Lady Warriors' (14-7, 18-9) next challenge is a road game against Evangel University (13-6, 16-10) in Springfield, Mo., on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025.
