Run and Gun, Lady Warriors Run Away in Win Over Eagles
Sterling, Kan. – After one quarter of play, the Lady Warriors found themselves in a 22-22 tie with the Oklahoma Wesleyan University Lady Eagles. The Lady Warriors found a way to gain an advantage and increase it every quarter from then on. Sterling got another important conference win with an 84-61 final score.
Korynn Clason continued her excellent play, shooting at an incredible 75% from the field while going 8-8 from the free throw line. She ended the game with 26 points. Alissa Heskamp made her presence known, scoring a season high 20 points. She added 6 rebounds and 4 steals to her totals for the night. Bailey Young got the start down low and finished with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Directing traffic for the Lady Warriors was Kali Briar racking up 8 assists to go with her 5 points. Making an impact off the bench for Sterling was Karlee Jacobs with 5 assists.
Sterling improves to 8-2 this season and sits near first place in the KCAC with a 4-1 conference record. They play their next two games at home. Wednesday night, they take on the Bethel College Threshers at 6 pm, and play their final pre Christmas game against Ottawa University on Saturday at 1 pm.
