York, Neb. – Women's basketball continues to play on the road early this season. This time it was for the KCAC opener. Sterling took on York University to open the conference season and it certainly went their way. Statistically, these teams matched up very well, but the Lady Warriors took advantage of better shooting to secure a win. They got a huge road win to start the conference season, 74-57 over York.
Alissa Heskamp had an excellent night on the offensive end with a season high, 19 points. She also led the team in assists and added 4 rebounds. Korynn Clason brought her hot start to the beginning of the KCAC season with a 17 point performance, shooting 60% from the field, while going 5-5 from the free throw line. Evie Gill came off the bench to score nine points, but really got things done defensively with 4 steals.
The Lady Warriors play their first home game of the season on Wednesday evening. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 pm.
