Clason Earns 4th KCAC Offensive POTW

WICHITA, Kan. — Korynn Clason of Sterling College and Madie McCoy of Tabor College have earned the KCAC Women's Basketball Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from February 5-11 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Equity Bank.

 


 

Offensive Player of the Week

Korynn Clason - Sterling College

5-10 | Jr. | G | Cambridge, Neb.
 

Clason continues to lead the Warrior offense. She led the team in scoring, blocks, and steals as well, while maintaining her scoring average. She ranks #12 in the NAIA in points per game (out of players playing in 60% of their team's games) and #7 in the NAIA in total points. She also leads the KCAC in scoring. This marks the fourth time this season Clason has been named the KCAC Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week.

Defensive Player of the Week

Madie McCoy - Tabor College

5-11 | Sr. | G/F | Wellsville, Kan.

McCoy was the key player defensively that led the Bluejays to two conference wins and held both teams to 55 points, averaging 3.5 steals, .5 blocks, 4 rebounds, and just 2 fouls. McCoy's performance against Sterling was particularly noteworthy, as she recorded 5 steals in that game to keep Tabor atop the KCAC standings. She also averaged 4.5 points and 4 assists in their two wins. This is the second time this season McCoy has been named the KCAC Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
