Tabor Topples Warriors in KCAC Clash

Hillsboro, Kan. – The Lady Warriors ran into a tough foe Wednesday night against the Tabor College Bluejays. Tabor is fighting for the number one seed in the KCAC while Sterling is trying not to be on the outside looking in on the KCAC postseason tournament. Wednesday night went Tabor's way as they left the arena with a 65-55 win.

The Lady Warriors did their best to stay in the contest all night long, and they didn't give up much in each quarter. Sterling was down just 3 after the first quarter, and 10 at the half. The third quarter gave them a little hope as they outscored Tabor by three and cut the lead to 7 heading into the final frame. Both teams had their best offense at the end of the game as Tabor outscored Sterling 23-20 in the fourth quarter giving them the ten point win.

Korynn Clason was once again the top scorer for Sterling, scoring 20 of Sterling's 55 points. Other double figure scorers were Alissa Heskamp with 14 and Bailey Young with 11. Young was also Sterling's leading rebounder with 5. Heskamp's defense continued to shine with 4 steals.

Sterling returns home on Saturday to take on the York University Panthers for Senior Day. It is an earlier than normal tipoff scheduled for 2 pm.
