Times Keep Falling for Warrior Cross Country

McPherson, Kan. – Warrior Cross Country ran in the Carol Swenson XC Invitational Saturday morning. This Invitational features many KCAC schools as well as several junior colleges in the field.

It was a good day for Warrior runners as there were two runners who cut down their season bests, one of which was a PR.

Janie Perico on the women's side knocked nearly 30 seconds off her 5k time and finished in 22:45.3. This is down from her first collegiate time of 24:50.3 just over a month ago. Sydney VanHorn also competed in the race finishing with a time of 25:23.7.

The lone men's runner for the Warriors at the invite was Dawson Urwiller who dropped his PR significantly. He ran a 30:54.6 which is 90 seconds faster than his previous PR in the 8k race.

Sterling will compete in the Mid-States Classic on October 21. The event will be held in Winfield, Kan.
