Men’s Shot Record Falls at Concordia Early Bird Invite

Sterling, Kan. – Several members of the Warrior Men's Indoor Track and Field team headed north before going home for Christmas break to take part in the Concordia (Neb) Early Bird Invite. As expected, the men will be making an impact in the throws this season.

Blake Robertson, a Freshman from McPherson, Kan., stepped into his first event of the season and promptly broke the school indoor shot put record. His longest throw was 13.95 m. The previous record was held for 15 years by Josh Miller. Also competing in his first event as a freshman was Malachi Bell who threw a distance of 12.82 m in the same event. Both marks are good enough to qualify them for the NCCAA National Indoor Meet in early spring.

This meet was a good place to start for the Warrior Men who have several new faces as the program starts to gain traction and grow. The next action they will see is at the Friends University First Chance Qualifier on January 11th.
