
Warriors defeat Swedes, 5-2
Warrior men's tennis came away from Lindsborg, Kan. on Saturday, March 29 with a 5-2 win over the Swedes of Bethany College.
Sterling started with two wins in no. 2 and no. 3 doubles matches to get the 2-1 doubles point.
Adam King and Louis Boisdenghien faced a tough duo of Francisco Bravo and Martin Priban in the no. 1 doubles match and lost 6-4. Kazuki Fukushima and Kyosuke Ishida came back for the Warriors with a 6-4 win against Zeke Mumford and Gwilt Dylan in the no. 2 match. Robin Baransi and Nicholas Sprenger Sampaio finished things out in no. 3 doubles play with a 6-4 win over Bethany's Alexjandro Rico Morgan and Carlos Rodrigues Rivas.
Sterling continued to battle in singles play. In the no. 1 singles match, Pedro Felipoff suffered his first loss in conference play with a 6-4, 6-3 loss to Bravo. Boisdenghien took Mumford to three sets, losing the first 6-4 and winning the next two 6-3, 6-1 to get the no. 2 singles point.
Patricio Cifuentes Aguilar had a dominant performance over Daniel Lozano with a 6-0, 6-0 win in the no. 3 singles match. In no. 4 singles play, Ishida beat Gwildt 6-3, 6-2, while Sprenger Sampaio matched his energy in the no. 5 singles match with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Rodrigues Riveras.
In the no. 6 contest, Sterling's Abhyudit Nagar fell to the Swede's Pedro Melo, 6-2, 6-3.
The Warrior's next game in Thursday, April 3 against Friends University at home.
