Warriors Take on Tabor and Friends in KCAC Play

The Warriors played Tabor at home and Friends on the road this past week. The men would fall to Tabor but swept Friends and the women would sweep Tabor and beat Friends in close matches.

Women's Tennis vs Tabor College (7-0) W

The women were ready to take on the Bluejays in another conference match and got the job done by sweeping Tabor (7-0). In singles No. 1 Rachel Carlson would win (5-7, 6-3, 7-6), No. 2 Ana Paola Alvarez Diaz would win (6-0,6-0), No. 3 Camila Castro Medina would win (7-5, 7-5), No. 4 Brooklyn Kuhn would win (6-0, 6-0), No. 5 Aubrey Anderson would win (6-2, 6-3), No. 6 Kaylie Fenwick would win (6-4, 6-7, 10-5).

In doubles the women would play in very competitive matches against Tabor and would win the doubles point. No. 1 Dubs Alvarez and Castro would win (6-4), No. 2 Dubs Anderson and Carlson would win (6-2), No. 3 Dubs Fenwick and Kuhn would fall (6-2).

Women's Tennis vs Friends University (4-3) W

The women battled in every match against Friends University to get the close victory over the Falcons (4-3). In singles No. 1 Rachel Carlson would fall (0-6, 6-0, 1-6), No. 2 Ana Paola Alvarez Diaz would win (6-0,6-0), No. 3 Camila Castro Medina would win (6-2, 6-3), No. 4 Brooklyn Kuhn would win (6-4, 6-1), No. 5 Aubrey Anderson would fall (3-6, 7-6, 8-10), No. 6 Kaylie Fenwick would fall (3-6, 6-7).

In doubles the women were able to win 2 of the 3 matches to secure the doubles point for the Warriors. No. 1 Dubs Alvarez and Castro would fall (2-6), No. 2 Dubs Anderson and Carlson would win (6-1), No. 3 Dubs Fenwick and Kuhn would win (6-3).

A notable player for the Warriors, Rachel Carlson, a Junior from McPherson, Kansas. Carlson played in a very intense match against Tabors #1 and was able to come away with a big victory at the one spot winning in a 3rd set tie breaker.

Men's Tennis vs Tabor College (2-5) L

The men would play against a very competitive Tabor team but unfortunately would fall to the Bluejays. In single's No. 1 Antonio Paredes would win (4-6,6-4,3-0(DEF)), No. 2 Pedro Felipoff would fall (6-7, 1-6), No. 3 Angel Marin would win (6-7, 6-4, 6-4), No.4 Esteban Rocha would fall (3-6, 1-6), No. 5 Zack Hash would fall (0-6, 2-6), No. 6 Hunter Lee would win (3-6, 5-7).

Going into doubles the men would struggle against Tabor only winning one of the doubles matches and would fall short of the doubles point. No. 1 Dubs Paredes and Marin would win (6-2), No. 2 Dubs Felipoff and Rocha would fall (3-6), No. 3 Dubs Blede and Hash would fall (1-6).

Men's Tennis vs Friend's University (7-0) W

The men would bounce back and would sweep the Friends University Falcons getting the Warriors the victory. In single's No. 1 Antonio Paredes would win (6-0,3-0(Ret)), No. 2 Pedro Felipoff would win (6-2, 6-1), No. 3 Angel Marin would win (6-2, 6-1), No.4 Esteban Rocha would win (6-1, 6-1), No. 5 Zack Hash would fall (6-1, 6-1), No. 6 Hunter Lee would win (Default).

Going into doubles the men took care of business and got the doubles point. No. 1 Dubs Paredes and Marin would win (6-2), No. 2 Dubs Felipoff and Rocha would win (6-4), No. 3 Dubs Blede and Hash would win (Default).

A notable player for the Warriors is Angel Marin, a freshman from Manta, Ecuador. Marin had one of the longest matches of the day and the biggest win of the day against Tabor in a very intense 3 set match.

The Warriors will be in action on the road against McPherson College on Thursday March 13 in conference play.
