Warriors fall to the Moundbuilders

Winfield, Kan.- The Warriors traveled to Winfield this past Saturday in another KCAC conference match. Men and women both fell to Southwestern (0-7) in hard, never-quit matches.

Women's Tennis vs Southwestern College (0-7) L

The Warriors played a very good Southwestern team and could not get anything started. In singles No. 1 Rachel Carlson would fall (3-6, 6-7), No. 2 Ana Alvarez would fall (2-6,3-6), No. 3 Camila Castro would fall (1-6, 2-6), No. 4 Brooklynn Kuhn would fall (4-6, 0-6), No. 5 Aubrey Anderson would fall (0-6, 1-6), No. 6 Kaylie Fenwick would fall (1-6, 0-6).

In doubles, the women competed but would not get any of the three matches and would not get the doubles point. No. 1 Dubs Alvarez and Castro would fall (0-6), No. 2 Dubs Anderson and Carlson would win (5-7), No. 3 Dubs Fenwick and Kuhn would fall (0-6).

Men's Tennis vs Southwestern College (0-7) L

The Warriors battled hard in every match but would not be able to come away with a win against Southwestern. In single's No. 1 Antonio Paredes would fall (4-6,3-6), No. 2 Pedro Felipoff would fall (1-6, 6-4, 5-10), No. 3 Angel Marin would fall (2-6, 2-6), No.4 Esteban Rocha would fall (2-6, 6-7), No. 5 Zack Hash would fall (2-6, 1-6), No. 6 Hunter Lee would fall (0-6, 2-6).

In double the men played competitive at the start of doubles, but Southwestern was able to take the doubles point. No. 1 Dubs Paredes and Marin would fall (1-6), No. 2 Dubs Felipoff and Rocha would fall (4-6), No. 3 Dubs Blede and Hash would fall (0-6).

The Warriors as a team played at a high level of tennis from the start to the end, contrary to the final scores. The men would finish with an overall record of 6-10 and an overall conference record of 4-7. The men finished with the best overall record for the program of 6-10 in the last five seasons. The Women would finish the season with an overall record of 5-10 and an overall conference record of 3-7.
