Warriors Unable to Get Offense Going Against Threshers

North Newton, Kan. – It was a long night for Warrior men's soccer as the Bethel College Threshers took care of business on their home field. Sterling took a 4-0 loss after not being able to capitalize on a number of opportunities around the net.

Bethel scored each of their four goals in the first half. The first came early in the 5th minute. The Threshers then scored the next three in the 20th, 22nd, and 39th minutes before the first half came to a close. Sterling trailed 4-0 at the break and that is where the score stayed for the next 45 minutes.

Statistically, the Warriors put themselves in a good opportunity to succeed. They outshot Bethel 16-13 and had the advantage in corners 6-5. After a hot start this season, the Warriors have cooled off a bit in the second half of the conference season.

The Warriors are now 9-6-2 (6-4-2) this season and hold firm to the #7 spot in the KCAC standings. They have one more game in the regular season before looking ahead to the KCAC tournament. Saturday, after Senior Day activities conclude, the men will take on Ottawa University with a scheduled start time of 2:30 PM at the Sterling College Soccer fields.
