Warriors On Fire Early, but Struggle Late in Loss to Threshers
Sterling, Kan. – The Warriors got off to a hot start against Bethel College on Wednesday night, but the night turned cold after ten minutes of play. Once Sterling gave up their lead, they were never able to get it back. Bethel closed out the first half on a 30-12 run and led by 17 at the half. Sterling tried their best in the second half but could never get within seven points. It was a tough night that the Warriors struggled to find any kind of rhythm. The night ended in an 83-62 loss for Sterling.
Jayden Garrison was the leading scorer again for the Warriors with 13. Mooch Austin was just behind with 12 points and added 6 rebounds and 2 steals. Coming off the bench, Julian Smith and Jimmy Causey Jr. combined for 8 points and 9 rebounds.
The final stand before Christmas doesn't get any easier for the Warriors. The 9-3 (4-2) Warriors host the Ottawa University Braves on Saturday in what should be a great matchup between two top-tier teams. Tipoff is scheduled for 3 pm. Before the team heads home for break, they will play an exhibition game against Emporia State University next Tuesday night at 7:30 pm.
