Cheer opens season at York Invite
Sterling College Cheer kicked of thier season in York, Neb. on Friday, Feb. 7 and head coach Jessica Saiz was very pleased with the results.
"I am super proud of our squad," coach Saiz said. "Until we hit that mat we had not been able to run our full routine. We had had Addie Struckhoff out sick and not able to practice, and then Tala Eckert was not fully cleared from her concussion until competition day."
Despite being down a cheerleader, the squad was able to make the most of the competition, finishing 14th with a score of 52.13, and improvement from last year's contest.
"They gave it their all and completed the routine to the end. Not only that but they raised their score 12 points from last years competition at York. They came a long way just in that one performance," coach Saiz said.
The Lady Warrior will be back at it in the Thresher Invitational in North Newton, Kan. on Feb. 14-15.
