Coach Connolly is in his seventh year as head coach for the Warrior Baseball program. Connolly came to Sterling from York College in York, Nebraska, where he was the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator for the Panthers.

In 2019, the Warriors finished fifth in the KCAC, making it back to the KCAC Tournament for the first time under Connolly. Seven Warriors also earned All-KCAC honors during the 2019 season, as the Warriors finished 27-22 overall.

In his nine years at York College, Coach Connolly worked with the hitters and infielders and had numerous athletes selected as All-Conference Gold Glove Award winners.

Coach Connolly began his playing career at Butte Community College in Oroville, California, where he contributed to a Golden Valley Conference Championship. He transferred to York College in 2006, where he was a two-time First Team All-MCAC and All-Region Shortstop. Coach Connolly posted a career .398 average playing for the Panthers, with 33 doubles and 82 RBI in his career.

He also collected two MCAC Gold Gloves at shortstop, and in 2008 was awarded the Rawlings NAIA Gold Glove, being recognized as the best defensive shortstop in the nation.

Coach Connolly holds a bachelor's degree in education from York College and is currently finishing his master's degree in Organizational Leadership. He resides in Sterling with his wife Ashley, and two sons, Easton and JJ.
