Lady Warriors Lose to Bethel

Sterling, Kan.- The Sterling College volleyball faced a tough game on Wednesday, losing in a 3-set match against the Bethel Threshers. Despite the home-court advantage, the Warriors were unable to find momentum against the onslaught of the Threshers' attack, bringing their overall record to 14-9 and their KCAC play to 4-6.

The Warriors gave a tough battle in the first set, losing by only a few points, but were unable to match the endurance of the Threshers in the final two sets. The set scores finished out to be 25-21, 25-17, and 25-14.

The Warriors did have some leaders on the court. At the net, senior Emily Peterson recorded 8 kills, and quickly behind her were Kodie Herd and Aliya McClanahan with 7 kills each. Aubrey Young continues to serve the Warriors as the lead setter, recording 26 assists for the game. Lindsey Kauffman kept a cool head in the back row, putting up 10 digs.

As the end of the conference regular season approaches, the Warriors look to secure a few more wins in KCAC play. They face off against Ottawa University on Sat, Oct. 28 in Ottawa, KS. The first serve is at 2 p.m. They then travel to Bethany to match against the Bethany College Swedes on Nov. 1. Game starts at 7 p.m.
