Warrior Volleyball Falls Against Valor

Sterling, Kan-- The Sterling College volleyball team was challenged on their home court this past Friday, unable to keep up with the Evangel University Valor in a 3-set match. This fixes their conference record at 14-8 overall and 4-5 in KCAC play.

The Warriors matched the intensity that the Valor put on in the first set, able to keep the score by a one-point differential early on. That was until the Valor captured the game's momentum, putting up strong kills at the net and leaving little room for the Warriors to respond. The set scores finished out to be 25-20, 25-18, and 25-21.

Emily Peterson continues to be the point of attack for the Warriors, recording 11 kills total. Aubrey Young balanced back row and setting responsibilities, recording 25 assists and leading Sterling with 10 digs in the game. Lindsey Kauffman also made her presence known in the back row, recording 9 digs.

After a hard-fought match this weekend, the Warriors look ahead to the rest of their conference games. On Oct. 25, the Warriors take on Bethel College at their home court. The first serve is at 7 p.m. They then travel to Ottawa University on Oct. 28, the game starts at 2 p.m.
