Warrior Win Streak Ends in McPherson

McPherson, Kan.- The Sterling College volleyball team traveled to McPherson College this past Wednesday, continuing their conference season against the Bulldogs. They were unable to keep up with the Bulldog intensity, putting a loss into their 2-2 conference record after a 3-set sweep.

The Bulldogs took an early lead in all three sets, forcing the Warriors into a defensive position throughout the entire match. With few chances to capitalize on attacks and a strong Bulldog defense at the net, the Warriors found little room for error. The scores of the three sets were 25-15, 25-13, and 25-13.

Aubrey Young led the way with 12 assists and 6 digs for the Warriors. Ashlyn Fast, Paige Borges, and Emily Peterson led the attack with 3 kills each.

The Warriors look forward to their next conference matchup against the Oklahoma Wesleyan University Eagles on Sat. Sept, 30. Played on OWU's home courts, the game will start at 3 p.m. They then face the Tabor University Blue Jays on Oct. 4, at the Gleason Center. Game starts at 7 p.m.
