Cross Country Makes Season Debut at Terry Masterson

Hutchinson, Kan.-The Cross Country season has returned for Warrior Athletics. As is often the case, the Terry Masterson Twilight Classic at the Fun Valley Sports Complex in Hutchinson, Kan.

The men run a four mile race while the women run three. Competition from junior college to Division II show up for this race and great races are run.

The Lady Warrior's freshman, Janie Perico, led the pack with a time of 24:50.3. Sierra Vicze and Sydney VanHorn followed not far behind with times of 25:35.4 and 26:17.8, respectively.

With the recent transition of coaches for Warrior XC, there was little time to recruit so to begin this season the Warriors will rely on the legs of first time collegiate competitive runner, Dawson Urwiller. In his first competitive race, Urwiller finished in the middle of the pack against 130 runners. Urwiller ran his four miles in 25:09.7.

The Warrior's next run will be at the Muthama-Rogers Invite in North Newton, Kan. on September 23rd.
