Track Continues to Improve at Friends Spring Invitational

Wichita, Kan. – Warrior Track and Field took on some of the top regional competition once again at the Friends University Spring Invite. The men's side saw several top 15 finishes once again and the women's team set several personal bests.

Maurice Gray continues to be the pace-setter for Warrior field events. He finished third in the Triple Jump, with a new personal best distance in the event, and seventh in the Long Jump. Both jumps surpass the NCCAA qualifying standard, but fall just short of the NAIA standard. On the running side, Cedric Wilson brought in a pair of twelfth place finishes in the 110m Hurdles and 400m Hurdles. His time in the 110m Hurdles hit the qualifying mark for the NCCAA national tournament, while his 400m Hurdle time is less than a second from qualifying. Camden Carr set a new personal record with his jump in the Long Jump. Both Drake Steele and Jacob Bauman finished with personal bests in the Discus Throw.

On the women's side, Aliya McClanahan placed fifteenth in the Discuss. Her 34.61m mark meets the qualifying standard for the NCCAA National Tournament. Janie Perico and Lana Rodriguez set new personal bests in the 1500m run. Jessa Lee also found a personal best in the 400m, as did Makenzie Hadley in the Hammer Throw.
