Tennis Falls to 1st Place McPherson

Sterling, Kan. – It is no surprise that McPherson is in first place in the KCAC. They have grown accustomed to being there. This afternoon's final scores do not reflect how competitive the Warrior teams were against a tough opponent in McPherson. The women lost 6-1 and the men lost 0-7.

Women

The Lady Warriors tested the Lady Bulldogs who had given up just two points in the KCAC this season. Sterling snagged a third point from Mac when Ana Alvarez won No. 2 doubles in two sets. Sterling narrowly missed on another point when they took a three-set loss in No. 6 singles. This is just the second loss for Sterling this season and their second loss in KCAC play. The two teams they have lost to have both been receiving national votes at the time Sterling played them. Below you will find complete results for the day's matches.

Men

The Warrior men were a tough match for McPherson, but the Warriors were not able to score a point in the 7-0 loss. They pushed to tie break in several sets, but never got the advantage. Sterling men are now 7-5 this season and 6-2 in conference play, placing them third in the league.

Both the men and women return to action on Saturday when the teams travel to Evangel University. There are just a few matches left before the KCAC postseason tournament where Sterling will look to make a run.
