Warrior Tennis Takes Care of Bluejays

Hillsboro, Kan. – Both the men's and women's tennis teams took care of the Tabor College Bluejays with wins of 6-1, and 7-0 respectively. Both teams continue to tear through KCAC competition with on their way to the postseason conference tournament.

Women

The Lady Warriors had a perfect day on the courts, shutting out the Lady Bluejays. The only blemish was a doubles loss, but Sterling was still able to win the doubles point. Sterling's No. 4 and No. 5 singles, Giovana Gaboardi and Natalia Antkowiak, both had shutout wins in their singles matches, not giving up a point. Complete results are below.

The Lady Warriors are now 9-1 and 5-1 in the KCAC, currently sitting fourth in the KCAC standings. They are back in action Saturday when they host Friends University.

Men

The Sterling men continue to play well in KCAC competition, winning their third straight match. They edged out the Bluejays for the doubles point and won all but one of the singles matches. David Garces went to tie break in the first set before winning 6-4 in the second to take the No. 4 singles match. Complete results are below.

Sterling is 6-4 overall and 5-1 in KCAC play, putting them in fourth place in the league standings. They have now won five of their last six matches. This Saturday they host the Friends University Falcons for another KCAC matchup. There are five more matches before the regular season comes to a close.
