Tennis Swept By Ottawa

Sterling, Kan. – The Women's tennis team lost its first match of the spring season and the men took their first loss in KCAC play. For both teams, they were facing Ottawa, a powerhouse in recent years in the KCAC. Neither team was able to score a point in the match getting beat 7-0.

Women

Coming into the match, the Lady Warriors were holding on to a seven-game win streak. That streak came to an end as they struggled all day against the Braves. Many of the games were competitive, but Sterling was never able to get an edge.

The women are now 7-1 this season and 2-1 in KCAC play. They take on Bethany College at home on Wednesday as they look to put a new win streak together.

Men

Alexandre Gaboardi was the bright spot in No. 2 singles as he won his first set, the lone set won by either Warrior team. He took the set by score of 6-3, before dropping the last two sets, unable to earn the point.

Sterling is now 3-4 overall this season and playing well in the KCAC, holding a 2-1 record. They return to action on Wednesday afternoon when they take on the Bethany College Swedes at home.
