Men’s Tennis Ends Fall Season with Win

Sterling, Kan. – Sterling Men's Tennis closed out their fall season Friday afternoon with a great send off for Senior, Kamran Jones. Jones played his last match as a Warrior with his pending graduation in December. It was an exciting day for the Warriors with the final match of the day going to the final point. Sterling came away with the win as Jayce Blede finished things off for the Warrior win over Baker University, 4-3.

The Warriors lost the doubles point to start things off. All three matches went in favor of Baker by scores of 6-3, 6-4, 6-3 from doubles ones to doubles threes.

When the singles matches started, that is when the Warriors started to pour it on. Pedro Felipoff won his match 6-2, 6-2 in #1 singles. #4 singles was played by Zack Hash and he won after a great comeback, 0-6, 6-4, 10-3. Blede finished the final match of the day in #5 singles just avoiding a tiebreak, and clinching the match for the Warriors, 6-2, 7-6(6). And the Senior, Kamran Jones, won his match playing #6 singles, 6-2, 6-1. Esteban Rocha and Santiago Quintero took losses in #2 and #3 singles, respectively. Both of their matches went to tie break before eventually losing.

Sterling now looks to the spring and the excitement that will bring as the Warriors are looking to compete in the top 5 of the conference for the first time in several years.
