Cheer Finishes 4th at KCAC Championships; Headed to Regionals Next

YORK, NEB. – The Sterling College Cheer team was at the KCAC Cheer Championships last week, as the season has started to hit the final stretch. The Warriors finished strong at the competition, earning fourth place.

Sterling would put together a solid routine at the KCAC Cheer Championships to earn fourth out of eight teams. The Warriors finished with an overall score of 62.11, while Saint Mary was third (67.03), Bethel was second (73.03), and Ottawa was first (82.56)

"I am very happy with how our team performed at the KCAC Championship and with our fourth place finish," said head coach Casie Lacey. "This team has worked so hard this season, and has improved every single week. I know that if we continue to push hard this week, we can continue to improve and hit an even cleaner routine this weekend at regionals!"

Michael Merriweather also earned All-KCAC honors at the Championships, being named to the All-KCAC Second Team list.

The Sterling College Cheer team will head to regionals this weekend, as they travel to Oklahoma City on Saturday, February 23rd. The Warriors will look to qualify for a chance to go to nationals.
