
Softball Drops First Game with Sterling
Softball opened action on Tuesday in Sterling, Kansas, by taking on the Warriors of Sterling. In the first game of the doubleheader, Sterling defeated Doane, 4-0.
The Warriors scored a run in the first and three in the second inning for all of the scoring. Doane was limited to a pair of hits in the game, a single from Jeryn Allen and a triple by Milannie Gonzalez.
In the pitcher's circle, Faith McDonald started and went 2.0 innings, allowing four runs (two earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out two. Faith Molina threw the final 4.0 innings, allowing two walks and striking out six.
Game two between the teams will start approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game.
