Men's Soccer Drops to Sterling 3-0

Leavenworth, Kan.- The University of Saint Mary Men's Soccer Hosted the Sterling Warriors on Saturday night, resulting in a 3-0 loss. The Spires are now 1-4-2 on the year and 0-2 in the KCAC.

Saint Mary came out of the gate with lots of pressure on the Sterling defense. Guilherme Caldas, Romario Harding, and Anthony Rangel all had chances on the net, but none were able to give their team an early lead. The Spires kept the pressure up on the Warriors all half, producing corner kicks and other set pieces to try and jump out in front. Matthew Thom nearly gave Saint Mary a 1-0 lead right before halftime in the 40th minute, but the Sterling keeper made the save.

Just two minutes into the second half, the Warriors flipped the momentum in their favor, finding the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead over the Spires. Saint Mary continued to press on the offensive side of the ball but could not seem to get a shot past the Warrior's goalie. Sterling scored again in the 78th and 84th minute to put the game away at 3-0.
