Leavenworth, Kan.- The University of Saint Mary Men's Basketball team hosted Sterling College on Wednesday, resulting in a 91-68 win, making it four wins in a row, the longest since the 2017-18 season. The Spires are now 10-10 overall and 7-8 in conference play.

Blake Chadwick got Saint Mary started hitting back-to-back jump shots to give USM the early lead. After two layups from Deshaud St. Martin, Quentin Williams hit a three to give Saint Mary an 11-6 lead. The Warriors matched the offensive pressure that USM was putting on them. Joey Schultz maintained the eight-point lead with a layup and three free throws just past the half's mid-way mark. Saint Mary began to extend their lead after Trey Alexander scored eight consecutive points for the Spires to make the score 28-20. After Sterling cut the lead in half, Demarius Houston hit a three, and the Spires began to roll once more. Saint Mary outscored the Warriors 17-10 in the final five minutes of the half to take a 48-34 lead.

After the break, the Spires continued to pressure Sterling, forcing turnovers and fouls while extending their big lead. Saint Mary also stamped out a few short-scoring runs from the Warriors to seal their fate. Late in the game, Carsten Seitz and Mason Belcher hit threes to put a bow on the Spire's 23-point 91-68 win over Sterling.
