REID’S GOAL NOT ENOUGH; SWEDES FALL TO WARRIORS

Sterling, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes Men's Soccer Team took the road to Sterling, Kansas to face the Sterling College Warriors in the Swedes' conference opener.

Sterling took the contest's first shot of the evening as starting goalkeeper Jake Goldstein would record just the first of his saves. Around four minutes later, Josh Amador would attempt the first shot for the Swedes, but the Warriors' keeper would save it. Sterling would break the tie by way of a rebounded free kick in the 39th minute. 40 seconds later, the Warriors would break free for another score to make it 2-0.

In the second half, Bethany came out on a mission as Tahj Reid would find the back of the net in the 54th minute to cut it to 2-1. Unfortunately, Sterling would score in the 74th and 78th minute to seal it 4-1.

Josh Amador led the Swedes in shot attempts (3) and shots on goal (2). Jake Goldstein would tally 8 saves on the night.

The Swedes take a trip to Winfield, Kansas to take on the Southwestern College Moundbuilders. Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM Saturday, September 16th.
