Lindsborg, Kan. – The Bethany College Swedes Men's Basketball team played host to the Sterling College Warriors in what was a revenge game for the Swedes. The last time these two played, the Warriors would come out on top 88-77. This time around, the Swedes would prevail 76-67.
Kenny Haynes would lead the Swedes in scoring for the third game in a row; this time with 23. Emmanuel Akpan would pour in 21 points along with 15 points to record his fifth double-double of the season. Kendall Collins would score 13 while also dishing out five assists and nabbing three steals. Devin Spencer remained a lockdown defender tallying six steals and spear-headed a defense that forced 16 turnovers. Spencer also led the Swedes in assists with eight assists.
The ultimate difference between the two clubs was the amount of three-pointers made. The Swedes made 11 shots from downtown compared the Warriors two which is a nine-point swing in itself. Bethany would outscore Sterling in bench points 28-9.

The Swedes host the Friends University Falcons in the latter part of their two-game homestand. The Falcons are coming off an 80-69 loss vs the Southwestern College Moundbuilders snapping their four-game win streak. Tipoff is set for Saturday, January 18, at 7:00 PM following the completion of the women's contest.
