Three Warriors Score Double Figures but Fall Short at Hastings

Hastings, Neb. – The Lady Warriors played one more game before the close of 2024, when they traveled north to take on the Hastings College Broncos. Despite a tough shooting night for the Warriors, they closed the game out with three scoring in double figures. Great Plains Athletic Conference teams always present a good matchup as was the case on this night at the end of December. Sterling ended up taking a loss to close out the year, 89-63 to the host Broncos.

Korynn Clason led the Lady Warriors with 17 points but was just 6-16 from the field. Alissa Heskamp finished with 15 points, a team leading 6 rebounds, and 3 steals, and closing out the double digit scoring for Sterling was Alex Bearup with 11 points and 6 rebounds as well.

Sterling closes 2024 with a 9-4 (5-2) record. They return to action the first weekend in January, going on the road to take on the University of Saint Mary Spires. Sterling and the Spires are both caught up in a six-team tie for third place, giving the winner of that game a significant advantage in the KCAC standings.
