Lady Warriors sweep the Eagles, 7-0

Sterling College women's tennis had a dominant performance over Avila University in Kansas City, Mo. with a 7-0 sweep.

The Lady Warriors started out sweeping the doubles matches. Ana Alvarez and Nadia Margaritov teamed up in the no. 1 doubles match to beat Danielle Jean-Louis and Kylee Bragaw 6-3. In no. 2 doubles play, Greta Fankhauser and Hannah Giordanelli took on Tia Wilsher and Isabella Davies and came away with the 6-1 win. Camila Castro Medina and Brooklyn Kuhn also got the 6-1 victory over Ava Healy and Alaeyah Chleborad in no. 3 doubles play.

Sterling continued to roll in singles play. Alvarez got it started with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Jean-Louis in the no. 1 singles match. Margaritov followed it up with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Bragaw in the no. 2 singles contest. In no. 3 singles play, Giordanelli took on Wilsher going 6-1, 6-2 for the win.

The final three matches were all Sterling, with Castro Medina getting the 6-1, 6-2 win over Healy in the no. 4 singles match. Brooklyn Kuhn beat Chleborad in the no. 5 singles contest and won 6-2, 6-1. Fankhauser finished things out in no. 6 singles play with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Norris.

The Lady Warriors will be back in action on Friday, April 17 as they take on Southwestern College on Senior Day in Sterling.
